When and if something does happen to one of your people, a personal
emergency alarm can be used to attract attention, to indicate a
location, to summon help, or to disconcert or frighten off an
attacker. Often saving a very unpleasant experience
from becoming an extremely nasty one. Many employers now recognize that they have a moral obligation to
equip staff to survive such unpleasant encounters or incidents, and
also that there are considerable “internal relations” and “duty
of care” benefits from so doing.
Issuing your people
with a Staff Defenders personal emergency alarm is good
for your people, good evidence of your concern for staff welfare (and
therefore good for you, the employer) and could even save
a
life.

Please
also note: Carrying
a personal alarm may not actually prevent a nasty incident or
accident happening to a member of staff - but it will always
significantly increase the chances of an unharmed outcome, or a more
rapid response from rescuers.
However, in circumstances when staff are working with known groups,
amongst whom they may feel vulnerable, if members of such groups are made
aware that alarms are carried by staff, this may itself have a useful
deterrent effect - especially when key-ring style alarms are attached,
visibly, to clothing.
